I had the worst and most unpleasant experience when I stayed in the Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel. In the second day of my stay, after the housekeeper "cleaned" my room, I found a bag of my valuable clothes was missing. I had an important meeting in the next day but a jacket I needed to wear was unfortunately in that missing bag. I called the front desk right away and a lady there told me the housekeeper may mistakenly took the bag and throwed it away like garbages. She also told me that the housekeeping manager and the housekeeper herself will discuss it with me in the next morning at 9. Well, as you can guess, nobody showed up and wanted to explain to me what was going on in the next morning. At 10 am, only after I strongly insisted I finally had the pleasure to talk to the housekeeping manager. Again, as you can guess, the manager simply denied the fact. She checked my room herself and could not find the bag either. Nobody came in my room except myself and the housekeeper in that day so my bag of clothes just magically disappeared? A front desk manager helped me to report this incident to the police but I really doubted whether this would help. I waited endlessly in the lobby but the police did not come. I checked out at noon, as I had to rush to buy myself some new clothes for my meeting in the afternoon. They said they will contact me once they have any new findings but I will need to fly back to the US later this week so I suppose I will have to forget all about it, as I dont have time to make international calls to chase them around. I can tell from their faces that they dont really care about the lost of my belongings in my own room. By the way, I paid on line before I checked in. Just in case somebody would assume that I was trying to get out of my hotel bills. I travel a lot and have lived in many hotels in many different countries. Nothing like this happened. I have never been this unsatisfied and unhappy about a hotel. The front desk manager said the police will come before 5 pm, and once the police is there they will give me a call. It is 4:27 pm now. I received no call from them. I will update my review if needed.
