Lovers of nature will be happy to hear that Skrins is also the name of a protected natural reservate. In spring and summer, the sky vibrates and buzzes from plovers, godwits, curlews, oystercatchers and bush robins. Sporadically, you will also be able to see spoonbills.

The hamlet of Skrins consists of 4 farms, of which two are still in operation. It is situated at the heart of the Frisian plains, 'de Greidhoeke'.
